Teej Ka Mela (Teej Festival):

True colors of Jaipur and its life style can be best captured during the Teej festival, which is celebrated every year in the month of July-August. The background story behind its celebration is to celebrate the joy of togetherness of Lord Shiva and his wife Goddess Parvati who are ideal for every married couple to live a prosperous and honest life for each other.

The one day long celebration is initiated with a Pooja (scared ceremony in the name of god)followed by a long, colourful, cheerful precision of Pandits along with idol of Goddess Teej throughout the walled city. People from every nook and corner join the precision, which is lead by folk dancers, and musician who dedicate their prayers to goddess.

Gangaur Ka Mela (Gangaur Celebration March-April):

Gangaur is another name of Goddess Parvati. Women and unmarried girls with full feminist beauty devote their prayers to sacred goddess for longevity of their married life and better half. Whereas unmarried girls prey for the groom of their choice. The 16 daylong celebration is followed by precision within the walled city.

Elephant Festival (March -April):

This festival celebrated in the month of Faag which falls in between end of Feb and advent of March when Festival of Holi arrives. Elephant's will be decorated and dressed up for various sports where tourists can enjoy by riding themselves or by watch it.

Jaipur Literature Fest (January):
